Education efforts are among the first priorities for the strengthened Hawai'i Symphony.  The HSO has partnered with Hawai'i Youth Symphony and applied for Midori’s 2016 residency. Midori only selects two symphony/youth symphony groups each year, and HSO/HYS was one of them.  The residency includes masterclasses, workshops, and a performance with each organization, planned for April 2016.

The Hawai'i symphony is privileged to have JoAnn Falletta as Artistic Advisor.  The New York Times calls her one of the finest conductors of her generation, in demand internationally for her vivacity and control.  She is also Music Director for the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Virginia Symphony Orchestra.
