Hawaiian Word of the Day

Hawaiian Word of the Day: October 16th

We often hear ali?i in conjunction with pageants and other places where our chiefs are portrayed. Yes, ali?i means chief, chiefess, officer, ruler, monarch, king, queen. And ali?i nui then is the “High Chief.” Now days we often hear m??? for king, but he was an ali?i nui in the old days.
