Helping Hand - March 23, 2018 complete interview with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Hawaii

This week on Helping Hand it’s the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Hawaii. HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence speaks with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Hawaii President Jerri Chong and Public Relations Manager Gene Davis. Honolulu’s two Ronald McDonald Houses are open 24 hours a day year-round as a temporary “home” for families that must come to the Honolulu area from across the state and Pacific Rim islands seeking specialized medical treatments for their children’s catastrophic illnesses. There are many ways to support them, from contributing supplies or volunteer time to their locations, or participating in their July 18th golf tournament.

Helping Hand is a weekly feature on HPR1stations statewide airing on the afternoon drive broadcast of All Things Considered, and then archived online here. Friday afternoons, Helping Hand puts the spotlight on an organization, topic or event that offers assistance to people with disabilities and others among the most vulnerable.
