Just how bad is Urban decay in the tropics?      

James Spencer is a  UH  Associate Professor of Urban & Regional Planning with a joint appointment in Political Science. He’s also an Adjunct Senior Fellow at the East West Center. His current research focuses on urbanization in Southeast Asia and the Global South, especially in Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Ethiopia and other parts of Asia and Africa.

Lynne Wikoff is a children’s author, has been a social worker, a freelance writer and editor, written a parenting column, and worked in communications for a major health care organization .All of that was made possible by a decision she made over 30 years ago: to have a preventative double mastectomy. Her daughter also made the same decision because both women carry the BRCA 1 & 2 mutation.
