A downtown gallery is interpreting the human body through the style and design of two different artists.
“The Body Show-One Body, Two Artists, Two Visions” is a new installation of paintings and drawings at The ARTS at Mark’s Garage. Artists Kris Goto and Eric West were asked to interpret different body parts into their own style. The result is less about the human body, and more a whimsical take on how two different artists see, feel, & create. Goto’s work turns a pair of lungs into coral being nibbled by adorable fish. While West’s work translates the same subject into a multicolored, geometric maze reminiscent of aboriginal artwork. Goto works with ink blended into colored pencils.
West takes a multimedia approach to his artwork.
The Body Show is on display from January 13th, through February 28th.
With an opening reception this Thursday, January 15th, at 6pm. |
