Some Hawaii ID's Will Not Be Accepted by TSA in 2020

Your Hawaii State ID or driver's license may not be accepted by airport security officers after October 2020. Under the Federal Real ID Act, states are required to verify certain personal information for those ID cards to be considered valid by federal authorities. Hawaii began compliance in 2014, but more recent changes mean that some ID's may still be considered invalid in 2020.

There is a way to avoid stress when you have to deal with getting your drivers license. The City and County of Honolulu switched to an appointment system for license renewals and issues. But the no-show rate is 30 percent and that adds to more problems for everyone; particularly as thousands of people will see their licenses expire soon.
