This week Helping Hand welcomes Therapeutic Horsemanship of Hawaii. According to their website, they specialize in therapeutic riding instruction for special needs individuals, while providing instruction to individuals of any ability, and also offering a program with miniature horses that visit individuals who cannot come to their location due to physical or financial reasons.

The Average White Band are back in Honolulu for shows through Sunday at the Blue Note Hawaii at 6:30 and 9 p.m. The Scottish funk band's original members Alan Gorrie and Onnie McIntyre joined HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence in the Atherton Performing Arts Studio for a fun conversation.

This week Helping Hand welcomes back Claire Cutler, one of the hosts of the Homeward Bound Thanksgiving 5k  to end homelessness in Hawaii. It benefits area homeless service provider IHS, the Institute for Human Services. Hawaii is home to the worst homeless crisis anywhere in the United States per capita. Open to individuals and families of runners, joggers and walkers, it happens in Honolulu Thanksgiving morning at 7 a.m.
