With over fifty years in the entertainment industry, Burt Bacharach, at 89, has truly earned the title of living legend. You may have heard him supporting Hawaii Public Radio during our recent pledge drive.


From October 12th to October 15th, the Aloha State gets a visit from an extraordinary legend in the world of show business: Burt Bacharach.


Guitar monster Tommy Emmanuel is playing Honolulu Thursday through Sunday at the Blue Note, and then on the Valley Isle Monday at the MACC, touring to support his latest release, Live at the Ryman.


Jazz vocalist Kurt Elling is wrapping up two days at the Blue Note this evening with shows at 6 and 9 p.m., his debut live performances in the Aloha State. The Grammy Award winner spoke to HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence about his visit to Honolulu, roots in music going back to his childhood, and some of the unusual musical connections this Chicago artist has had over the course of his career.


This Saturday night The Stylistics return to the Blaisdell. The band have been performing in the Aloha State since the early 1970's, and HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence explored some of that long history with original member Airrion Love.

After decades without a visit, one of the most accomplished and revered guitarists is returning to the Aloha State. Al Di Meola took time to speak with HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence ahead of his Blue Note run September 6 - 9, with shows at 6:30 and 9 p.m.

Gifted musician and singer/songwriter Eric Hutchinson is in the Aloha State now for his debut performances. During his Blue Note run through Saturday (with shows at 6:30 & 9 p.m.), Eric took time for an All Things Considered Atherton Studio session of stories and music with HPR ATC Host Dave Lawrence.
