This week on Helping Hand we’re learning about the local non-profit Alea Bridge and the all-volunteer organization’s efforts to assist the homeless in the Aloha State, ranked as the single worst homeless crisis anywhere in the United States, per capita. HPR ATC Host Dave Lawrence speaks with Alea Bridge spokesperson Phil Acosta about their mission and upcoming July 30th fundraiser.

Helping Hand is tackling the housing crisis and how to help folks on the edge of homelessness with our guest today, EAH Housing. All Things Considered Honolulu Host Dave Lawrence speaks with EAH Housing Vice President Hawai‘i Kevin Carney. According to their website, they’re a nonprofit corporation founded with the belief that affordable rental housing is the cornerstone to sustainable, living communities.
