Taxing Investment Property to Pay for Public Education

Voters should expect to see a question on the Nov 6 ballot about taxing investment property to pay for public education. The Senate voted to put the question to voters, which would to establish a surcharge on residential investment property and visitor accommodations to increase funding for public education. Guests today are Corey Rosenlee of the public School teachers union, Tom Yamachika, President of the Tax Foundation of Hawaii, and John Harris, President-Elect of the Hawaii Association of Realtors
