As Hawai’i grapples with the most devastating homeless crisis in the United States on a per capita basis, this week Helping Hand welcomes back IHS – the Institute for Human Services. Clinical Director Jerry Coffee joins HPR All Things Considered Local Host Dave Lawrence for a conversation.
Helping Hand is a weekly feature on HPR1 stations statewide and online here. Each Friday afternoon, Helping Hand puts the spotlight on an organization, topic or event in the community that offers assistance to the disabled and other folks in need. It can he heard on-air as part of our afternoon drive broadcast of NPR’s All Things Considered on HPR1 stations across the state.
