This week on Helping Hand, HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence welcomes back the Alzheimer’s Association Aloha Chapter for a conversation about Alzheimer’s and dementia, and their upcoming fundraising and awareness raising walks: Kauai August 11, Honolulu September 8, Kailua-Kona September 15, Hilo September 29, and Maui October 20. From participating in the walk, providing supplies, volunteering at the walk, in their office, or for drug trials, or just spreading the word about their mission, we discuss the many ways we can support them with Steve Tam, Alzheimer’s Association Aloha Chapter, Director of Development.
Helping Hand is a weekly feature on HPR1 stations statewide and online here in our growing online database of resources. Each Friday afternoon, Helping Hand puts the spotlight on an organization, topic or event that offers assistance to people with disablilities and others among the most vulnerable.
