Kapolei is the fastest growing area on O‘ahu – and its mall is expanding to meet the demand.

The Kapolei Commonsshopping center announced the addition of an entertainment complex to the existing area.  The new space will add more than seventy-thousand square feet to the current location.  Restaurants from Roy Yamaguchi, Gyu-kaku and La Tour Cafe will add more food options for shoppers.

Regal Cinemas will also open its first flagship theatre in Hawai‘i.  The 56,600 square foot theater will feature twelve-auditoriums and serve as a focal point for the center.

Jeff Dinsmore is Director of Development for the MacNaughton Group.

Dinsmore says the expansion to the Kapolei Commons is expected to be completed around April of next year.

Nick Yee’s passion for music developed at an early age, as he collected jazz and rock records pulled from dusty locations while growing up in both Southern California and Honolulu. In college he started DJing around Honolulu, playing Jazz and Bossa Nova sets at various lounges and clubs under the name dj mr.nick. He started to incorporate Downtempo, House and Breaks into his sets as his popularity grew, eventually getting DJ residences at different Chinatown locations. To this day, he is a fixture in the Honolulu underground club scene, where his live sets are famous for being able to link musical and cultural boundaries, starting mellow and building the audience into a frenzy while steering free of mainstream clichés.
